AI in online study at EUVERSA: what it does and does not do
Most students use artificial intelligence when studying and writing. The question is not whether to use it, but how: transparently, and in a way that keeps the work your own. At VŠTE this is governed by Directive 23/2026 on the use of artificial intelligence.
What the AI tutor does
Every course has an AI tutor. It explains the material, answers questions about the course content and gives feedback on practice tasks. In the rigorosum it gives feedback on thesis milestones and rehearses the oral exam with you.
What it does not do
It does not grade exams and does not decide results. Reviewers and examination boards never see its output. During exams no AI is used for questions or grading.
How to declare AI use
When you submit written work you complete a declaration of AI use: which tools you used and for what (for example, feedback on an outline or language correction). Using the AI tutor is allowed and expected; undeclared text generation is a breach of the rules and is treated as a lack of originality.
Why we do it this way
AI should speed up feedback, not replace your thinking or the board's judgement. Every step that affects a procedure is taken by a person: the guarantor, the reviewer, the rector, the board. We keep an audit log of AI use and deploy AI as a supporting tool within the meaning of the EU AI Act.
